A 5 star review calculator tells you how many new 5-star reviews you need to reach a target rating (like 4.7 or 4.9) on Google, Yelp, etc.
✅ Quick 5-Star Review Calculator (Copy/Paste)
Inputs
- Current average rating = A
- Current number of reviews = N
- Target rating = T
- New reviews will be 5 stars
Formula (how many 5-star reviews needed):
[
x = \left\lceil \frac{T\cdot N – A\cdot N}{5 – T} \right\rceil
]
Where x = number of new 5-star reviews needed, and ⌈ ⌉ means “round up.”
Example
If you have A = 4.3 stars with N = 50 reviews, and you want T = 4.7:
- Current total stars = 4.3 × 50 = 215
- Target total after x reviews = 4.7 × (50 + x)
Solve:
[
x = \left\lceil \frac{4.7\cdot50 – 4.3\cdot50}{5 – 4.7} \right\rceil
= \left\lceil \frac{235 – 215}{0.3} \right\rceil
= \left\lceil 66.67 \right\rceil
= 67
]
✅ You need 67 new 5-star reviews to reach 4.7.
